Brown Anole
Anole races on sticky feet,
stopping only to breathe and eat.
Watch the red throat fan under its chin,
as the dewlap peeks out, then in.
Hungry Anole moves tongue and eyes
to capture and eat ants and flies,
Catch Anole, the tail detaches!
It re-grows, no need for patches.
It looks like a gecko, don't you think?
When you see it, don't wink or blink,
'cause it moves swiftly and can escape,
hiding from you in the landscape.
