by Leland B. Jacobs
I wrapped the night around me--
Velvet black, a cloak it made,
With silver stars for buttons . . .
I drew the cloak around me, unafraid.
I wrapped the night around me--
Velvet black, that shimmered as I swept
Around the moonlit room.
And in the furry feel of night I slept.
